The exotic Kedrodassos Beach

Kedrodassos beach belongs to the prefecture of Chania and together with its neighboring Elafonissi is one of the most exotic places on the island of Crete. It is about 73 km away from Chania and you can go there by car or motorbike, or if you like walking you can go to Kedrodassos, following the E4 path from the beach of Elafonissi. However, you should know that the access takes place via a dirt road.

The beautiful Kedrodassos beach has magical, white sand while its exotic landscape is composed of rocks that exist at some points and of course the crystal – clear, blue water of the sea. At the beach, you will also find many cedar trees from which it took its name. The beach of Kedrodassos is protected from the winds and you will never meet big waves there, while the sea is also shallow and ideal for children.

In addition, you should know that the wider area that hosts Kedrodassos is a protected and for this reason, it has been included in the Natura 2000 network. It is, therefore, a completely unorganized place so in case you go there you should take care of supplies such as cold water, food and of course a first aid kit box.

Furthermore, Kedrodassos is an ideal and favorite place for nudism. However, although it is not a crowded beach with amenities, you are not allowed to camp there, so you will just have the opportunity to make a one-day excursion there.

If you like water sports, the beach of Kedrodassos is the perfect destination. Although the winds have not got high intensity, you can enjoy activities such as windsurfing or kite – surfing if you visit the beach during a windy day.

Finally, if you decide to come to Chania for your summer vacation, you should definitely devote one day to this “heaven on earth” which will enchant you with its rare, exotic beauty.
